All 1'st edition
missions collected! Now the search for 2nd Ed missions has begun.
This site is has been to collect all missions to the Games Workshop game
Space Hulk. If you haven't got the game you might try to make your own
Travel Space Hulk with epic figures since that
is what the maps on this site is best suited for. You zoom into the small
maps in the missions by clicking the magnifier in the menu frame - all details
won't show in the small versions. If you'd rather like to create a fullsize game
from the original boardsections go to Chad's site
to pick up high-res scans to print.
Mission One:
The Space Hulk Collection was founded during the Christmas of 1998
using Write, Paint and the latest version of IE, the only of the three
capable of hanging a computer during normal operation.
Objectives
Collect all Space Hulk 1:st edition missions and make them available
to everyone interested. The Genestealer player is desperately trying to stop
this from happening.
Forces
Space Marines:
One Chief Librarian (Javascript version 1.0) with Write, Paint and compatible browser.
The Genestealer player will take all map sections that fall out of the
right side of the paper when printed in Internet Explorer and make a Space Hulk
to colonize new innocent worlds. To save them, print in landscape orientation.
Deployment
Dust off the old boxes or try to use the Space Hulk 2:nd edition.
Alternatively, fix some epic figures and print out the ready to play map.
Unfortunately Space Hulk is in production any more, but if you want to print out all the
boardsections yourself to get a game you can still order miniatures to go with them from Games Workshop.
Metal miniatures are always available, even though it seems like some of the moulds are only available
in the UK and different ones can be ordered in the US. With some luck there are also a stock of plastics,
but the arm sprue for the US hybrids is unavailable and so are the hybrid sprues from the original
Genestealer box.
Flamer: Since the board sections got lost in the process, players has to
make their own rules for deciding flamer affection. Rooms, turns and crossings are
easy sections to recreate, but in the event of long corridors suitable sections
has to made. If the corridor is longer than six squares you could just split it
up, but different choices changes the flamers tactics and in the real game sections
can be scarce and corridors be built from much shorter piece. It's all up to you.
Victory
The Space Marine wins if he collects all available missions and the collection proves
useful even to homebrew missions, and mission reports. Collecting the standard missions
and make them available on the net is a parital victory for the Space Marine.
The Genestealer player wins by killing the Librarian and stop the free missions,
leaving the people of the Empire with boxed ideas and no other choice than to pay up
for uncompatible upgrades of a system once close to freedom.
3/9 Another update by sharp monkey (!) Harbinger of Despair, another campaign from the 2nd Ed mission book. Stay tuned for more.
28/8 Added Spawn of Execration a campaign from the mission book for 2nd Edition Space Hulk. Credits to Sharp Monkey!
6/8 All missions should have some boardsections marked by now, though I have not all originals available especially not the Citadel Journals
so the missions marked ¤- in the index aren't complete and needs proofreading.
If you have any of these missions available, please make a screenshot of them and send it to me with any missing borders marked in red!
1/8 Added some extra tiles to the 2nd Ed tileset (the 4th box in the menu). Found the page with boardsections to Harlequin missions
31/7 There is an inconsistency between Kortex's and Gnok's version of In the Middle of the Nest
whether a 6 square corridor will be split in half or 5 to 1.
30/7 Updated homemade missions with boardsections but couldn't check Kortex missions and Hybrid hunt with originals.
I've got Sentinel V checked but there was an inconsistency between campaign and mission maps that's unresolved.
27/7 Finally IE5+ and NS6+ users are able to view the boardsection borders in the mission descriptions.
NS4 still has to zoom the map to see them, if you are using any other browser like IE3 and was able to
see the borders earlier but not now, please mail me about it.
24/7 Added borders to the Necromunda Campaign. There are also preliminary borders on Sentinel V - but disregard them since the unknown bits are missing.
23/7 Finally got around to fixing all the maps that became flawed three months ago.
Was contacted again about boardsections and added them to the Strike Deep Campaign and
the Genestealer Invasion Campaign,
check out the index page to see which missions that has boardsections.
15/4 To make some good use of Chad's excellent scans I put up the start of a new set of tiles made from the 1st ED boardsections,
I also created a set from the 2nd ED boardsections (don't remember where they came from now). Try to check the radiobuttons
and reload the missions to see the maps in a new style. None of these tilesets are complete, and even the older ones might
be affected by changes in the script.
14/4 Hacked the board-script to be able to print out numbers and text over more than one square. Text won't get border now either.
Report if you find any strange behaviour on other maps because of this. Only bug found yes is that IE won't accept long textboxes
if you don't have pictures to fill out the space, otherwise IE will try to compress the text which ruins the map. Fix, fill out with pictures.
16/9 Experimental beta, try out a new graphic style on the maps by setting the checkbox in
the menuframe and reloading the page. The old one is still recommended for b/w printing and to get scale and boardsections on the fullsize maps.
22/8 Backbone changes. Script updated to manage the addition of the actual boardsection edges, try out in first mission of First Edition SH or any mission in Deathwing.
In addition the legend is now framed and can be placed arbitrarly over the map, only implemented on the first mission of deathwing.
30/3 Finally, all 1'st Ed missions completed: Added Sentinel V a campaign only available in the Space Hulk mission book.
21/3Designer's Cut, the very last of the Citadel Journal articles from issue #7 finishes the articles part of this collection. Silent Voyager fixed up too.
15/3 Accumulated update from Citadel Journal 3 and 5: rules for Eldar in SH and the Silent Voyager campaign.
This is still preliminary since I forgot to include the small maps on this mission (clicking on the magnifier will work though)
23/2Harlequin rules from Citadel Journal 2 addedby Christopher Quinn.
8/2 Wrote a tutorial on how to make a Travel Space Hulk. Modified the board-generating script to use the new tiles.
All special cases except a corner facing a wall is now handled. In addition
it is now possible to add or remove frames manually without affecting
the frames generated in neighboring sections. See the tilemap for more info
on how to create mission maps.
1/2 Close Assault rules added by Christopher Quinn. Added some new tiles
and decided to scrap the small map tiles in favour of resized large ones. So if you are
printing one of the missions the map will come out in much better resolution now!
19/1 The rules for Unseen Enemy from CJ 1 added by Christopher Quinn.
15/12 Missing for the last mission, Christopher Quinn continued with some
of the rules published together with the missions. First out: Command Units, which
is bundled with the mission Delaying Action already in the collection.
8/12 Almost a partial victory - just Pitfall mission missing now!
Rules for Space Marines and using Traitor Terminators added.
6/12 Added "Wolf Lair" and "Denzarks Hammer" supplied by Christopher Quinn.
The campaign map for "Wolf Lair" isn't quite ready and "Denzarks Hammer" uses special rules not included.
19/11 Added "Supply Lines" from Citadel Journal 1 supplied by Christopher Quinn.
15/11 Got my hands full with a new mission and lot of ideas so
I have to make a to-do list with features yet to come:
* Format new missions and maps and add them.
* Define new symbols and arrows to make more accurate maps and draw them and add them to existing maps
* Figure out a syntax for adding a legend for symbols and do a crude implementation
+ Make an invisible printing frame where the missionmap will be made with larger graphics
reduced up to 4 times - this will give the printed result 4 times the resolution.
Make even larger graphics so any size of map will look nice printed.
Make a new layout for the site fitting a legend and better menu for browsing.
Make a mapmaking program in delphi ( yeah right, dream on :)
* done.
14/11 Might be able to get my hands on missing missions to add soon. Stay tuned
In the meantime I found out that you can print white text by checking black text in page setup.
I added a CSS printstyle to Deathwing campaign page, but I haven't got any browser supporting it.
8/3 CCS version is up, as you can see on the backgrounds. The Netscape 3 example is down and the
campaign pages has got white text which effectively prohibits printing. There is however possible to set up a
special CSS for printing, so if I get the time and your browsers supports it it will be fixed, eventually.
I might even change the link colour to something other than blue :)
30/1 With help from Chris Lucking, Return to Kalidus have been added to the collection
9/1 Fixed the last of the mission breifings I have access to
